STC's Presidium Reiterates Firm Position in Unifying Efforts and Directing Capabilities to Confront Houthi Threat

The Presidium of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) held its periodic meeting on Tuesday, chaired by Mr. Fadhl Mohammed Al-Gaadi, member of the Presidium of the STC and Deputy Secretary-General of the General Secretariat.

In the meeting, the Presidium reviewed the briefing of the General Directorate of Foreign Affairs (GDFA) of the STC on foreign developments related to the cause of the South and the role of the STC, as the Presidium reiterated its firm position in supporting the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) to direct all efforts and capabilities to confront the Houthi threat and its categorical rejection of any attempts to deviate from this exact direction.

The Presidium stressed the need for prior coordination and agreement to take collective action in foreign diplomacy rather than acting unilaterally in such affairs.

The Presidium, too, called on the government to direct the state’s resources to meet the basic needs of citizens, rehabilitate the infrastructure for public services, pay the salaries of citizens and the military and security forces on the battle fronts, and cease unrationing spending at this phase in which the state of communal discontent and resentment multiplies on the government's performance and administration to address the situation, which is getting worse.

The Presidium renewed its gratitude for the heroes of the armed and security forces who are steadfastly picketing on the frontlines to confront the Iranian-Houthi ambitions in the South, calling for the continuation of their tremendous efforts to preserve the achievements of the people of the South fulfilled by the ultimate sacrifices of their brave heroes.

To the end of its meeting, the Presidium touched on several topics and issues related to the work of the STC's bodies and took the appropriate measures.
