Al-Khobbagi and Al-Naqeeb meet Russian ambassador to Yemen

Dr. Nasser Al-Khobbagi, member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, Head of the negotiating team, and Dr. Aidaroos Nasr Al-Naqeeb, Head of the Foreign Affairs department of the Southern Transitional Council, met with Vladimir Diddushkin, Russian Ambassador to Yemen, and Alexei Dobrinin, Attaché of the Russian Embassy.The meeting touched on the issues related to the Yemeni crisis,and its consequences on the two peoples in the north and the south, and the scopes of the southern issue and means to be solved.The Ambassador expressed his happiness with this meeting and said that the Russian vision is based on understanding the suffering of the  citizens as a result of the war continuation, and seeks to find exits that will stop the war and move to a political settlement.He stressed that the southern issue should be an essential part of the general framework of any future dialogues and the importance of southern participation in any consultations or dialogues related to the political trackFor their part, the representatives of the South Transitional Council expressed their happiness for this meeting, pointing to the historical depth of the Russian southern relations, adding that the transitional council expresses the aspirations of the southern people to get out of the results of the wars of 1994 and 2015, stressing that the southern issue is a natural result of the failure of the Yemeni unity experience.They stressed on the return to the two-state system by the boarders of the year 1990 is a common interest of the two peoples in both the South and the North insofar as it represents a regional and international interest and a necessity for security and stability in the region.They emphasized that any solution to the Yemeni crisis does not put the southern issue in mind, will lead to failure, as well as any political settlement that does not include a fair solution to the southern issue.In case of the absence of the South and its representatives in the production of any settlement, the southerners will not be a part of it, and will be rejected by the means guaranteed by law and international covenants and agreements.

At the end of the meeting both sides agreed on the importance to continue the meetings in the upcoming period on all possible levels.
