The Human Rights Department of the Southern Transitional Council holds consultative meeting in Abyan

The Human Rights Department of the Southern Transitional Council held on Monday a consultative meeting in Abyan province with the heads of the human rights departments in the governorate districts, as part of its plan to review the work progress of the human rights departments in all the governorates of the south and their districts. The head of the department of Human Rights in the Southern Transitional Council , lawyer Dikra Matook delivered a speech saying: "The governorate of Abyan is considered one of the most important southern provinces because of its active role in defending the southern cause and making sacrifices, and the objective of this meeting is to meet with the heads of human rights departments in Abyan governorate and its districts to identify the progress of their work and support their activities in the governorate, Matook pointed out that the Human Rights Department includes several units with several activities such as monitoring, fact finding, documentation, archiving, organizing seminars and workshops, in which monitoring and documenting all violations occur against the South are done by a specialized team. The head of Human Rights Department in the Transitional Council stressed on the importance of establishing communication between all human rights departments of Abyan province and with the Department of Human Rights in Aden the capital, stressing that her department would not hesitate to provide assistance and advice to revitalize the work of human rights departments in Abyan. For his part, the head deputy of the local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in Abyan province, Mohsin Abd, welcomed the team of the human rights department of the southern transitional council, coming from Aden the capital, expressing his deep thanks for the close attention to the activities of the human rights department in Abyan.
