The Secretary-General of Southern Transitional Council meets a number of poets and writers of Abyan

The Secretary General of the Southern Transitional Council, Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, met on Saturday with a number of poets and writers from the province of Abyan. In the meeting attended by Brigadier General Nasser Al-Saadi; member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, the secretary general discussed with the poets and writers the general cultural situation in Abyan province. The poets and writers of Abyan summarized the highlights of the difficulties faced artists, writers and poets in the province, and how the government neglected them. The Secretary-General pointed to the status of Abyan for its traditional heritage, stressing that the cultural art of Abyan represents important resources of the historical identity of the province in particular and of the South in general, in which it should be given great attention and care.

 

Lamlas confirmed the Southern Transitional Council's position alongside the writers, artists and poets of Abyan Governorate, expressing the readiness to provide the support to the art of Abyan in order to preserve this popular heritage. For their part, the poets and writers of Abyan expressed their deep gratitude for this meeting, stressing that the attention and care shown by the Southern Transitional Council is highly appreciated .
