Human Rights Department of Southern Transitional Council holds "Peace is Our Message" seminar on the occasion of International Day of Peace

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the International Day of Peace, which is on 21 September of each year ,the Human Rights Department of the Southern Transitional Council held an awareness seminar, under the title "Peace is our message".
At the seminar, the head of Human Rights Department, lawyer Zekra Hussein Matook delivered a speech saying that the purpose of the seminar is to introduce the meaning of peace and to remember its noble concepts and values.
Maatouq stressed that peace can only be achieved through establishment of justice and equality among citizens, and the rights of peoples for freedom and self-determination.

lawyer\  Zaher Al-Junaid in turn, provided a detailed explanation for the concept of peace in the international covenants, and the principles of the United Nations for establishing peace between the states, and the provisions of those charters to avoid wars and bloody conflicts.
Al-Junaid gave an overview of the history of peace in Islam and the pre-Islamic era to the present time.
Afrah Al-Homeikani, a community activist, attributed the causes of the crises and the loss of peace to the corruption, favoritism and regionalism prevailing in society, hoping that the competencies will be used to improve the life and life of the citizen.
The seminar discussed the factors that contribute to achieving peace in society, the most important of which is the establishment of the principles of law, justice, equality between citizens and good governance.
The participants in their discussion pointed out to the most important threats for peace in the society, such as the lack of personal security, food and citizens and country economic conditions. In addition to the corruption in the government and the lack of development and basic services needed by the citizen.

The seminar was attended by a number of legal and human rights activists and specialists.
