The President of the Southern Transitional Council holds an important meeting with the UN envoy

The President of the Southern Transitional Council, Aidroos Qassim Al-Zubaidi met on Wednesday at the United Nations Office in Amman, Jordan with the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Martin Griffith.

In the meeting, the peace efforts to resolve the Yemeni crisis were discussed.

The Southern Transitional Council sensed the UN Envoy's full understanding on the southern cause and the strong desire to resolve it fairly.

The President Al-Zubaidi welcomed Griffiths' tendency to engage the Southern Transitional Council in any consultations, dialogues or negotiations discuss the southern cause under the umbrella of United Nations.

The President of the Southern Transitional Council, Aidroos Al-Zubaidi expressed the southern transitional council the initial unconditional approval to participate in the forthcoming consultations to find a formula for a new round of negotiations.

Through an exchange of ideas with the Special Envoy, the Southern Transitional Council affirms its full readiness to continue the dialogue with all the southern national forces that believe in the cause of the South.

The two sides agreed upon holding a second meeting in September to discuss developments and cooperate for enhancing the ideas of solutions.

The Southern Transitional Council delegation accompanied president Al-Zubaidi contained the President of the Southern National Assembly, Major General Ahmad Saeed Bin Brik, Secretary General of the Council Ahmed Lamlas, Member of the Negotiations Affairs Unit Eng. Adnan Al-Kaf, the Head of the Southern Transitional Council Local leadership in Aden, Dr. Abdul Nasser Al-Wali and the Deputy Head of the General Department of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Al-Ghaithi.
